On the 16th November five year 6s and four year 5s went to Wellington Academy to play at a netball festival. There were two pools and we were in pool 2. We played 4 matches to start with and we successfully won all of them, so we went into the semi-finals. We played the semi-final against Collingbourne and won, which took us into the finals where we played Wellington. We tried our hardest and in the end we won 4-2. We came first overall and received a golden ticket to go to the final. We enjoyed the festival and we can’t wait to go to the county final.

On Friday 11th of November, we went to Warminster School to play in a Netball Festival against other schools – about five other schools. We drew one match and won all the others! We all swapped positions so we got chance to defend and attack.
Tamzin enjoyed goal attack and I enjoyed being goal shooter. We were also given food treats afterwards. We had a really good time and won the whole festival. One of our matches we won 3 -0!

On Wednesday 10th November 2016 Mrs Wren took seven people to Devizes for our second league game which was against Seend A. We started off great in the first two quarters scoring two goals and having the lead but by the end of the third quarter were losing 3-2. In the fourth quarter they scored another goal so the game finished 4-2 to Seend. It was a very close game and we were unlucky to come home with a loss.
On Wednesday the 9th November, we took part in a Football Tournament. There were 9 teams from different primary schools. We lost our first two matches 1-0 and drew the next one AND THEN WON OUR NEXT 5 MATCHES!
We all played brilliantly with great defending and great attacking. We scored lots of goals and had a brilliant but tiring day. We were a great team and came in 3rd place overall. We hope there are future matches.

On Wednesday 2nd November Woodborough Primary School took two teams of seven children to Avon Valley College. Both teams were in different pools. Woodborough B won some of their game comfortably and Woodborough A didn’t concede a goal (except 1 in the penalties). All of us got through to the quarters (with Woodborough B winning penalties) and both progressed to the semis. Unfortunately both teams then faced each other in the semi-finals! Woodborough A won 5-0 and reached the final…
It was a tough game with it ending 0-0 so we went into penalties. After the first 3 penalties we had already won and so we were awarded a Golden Ticket! We are all very excited to progress through to the next round of competition!

On the 20th October the school house captains attended a trip to Avon Valley Collage for the sports leader’s course. When they arrived they completed a question sheet then they played some non- physical activities. After that they did some team building and strategic games then they had lunch. In the afternoon, they filled in a second question sheet and did some instruction giving and listening activities. Finally, they learnt some new games by using the change 4life bag and got to practice their new leadership skills. We hope to start a Change 4 Life club at lunchtimes. More details will follow soon.
